Torch run coming soon! Purchase a torch run shirt soon!

The Troy Barboza law enforcement torch run will be held on April 20 beginning at the Keaau police station and running into the Keaau High School track. There the torch runners will be greeted by over 250 athletes, unified partners, volunteers and families who will be attending our Big island area track and field competition.
If you would like to be part of this great torch run, please complete the attached form and mail it with your entrance fee (which also gives you a commemorative shirt) and mail it to po box 7265 Hilo 96720 by April 17. Or if you would like to just support us by purchasing shirt and not participate in the run, just complete the gray shaded section of the form and mail it to us. We will be selling the dri fit short sleeve and cotton long sleeve shirts until our supply is depleted. If you have any questions you can call Carey Uchida at 990-5751 or Lori Nakashima at 938-5144. First Hawaiian Bank will also be selling the shirts. Mahalo !

After School All Stars joins Special Olympics East Hawaii's area program

Welcome Keaau Middle School and Pahoa Intermediate School after school all stars programs to our awesome program!
At the Big Island Softball tournament, these teams played great games and tied for 1st place. They did a Superb job at their first competition showing great sportsmanship and teamwork !

Torch Run speech

Athlete Christopher Liberato speaks to the 291st Combat Communications squadron of the Hawaii Air National Guard explaining about the Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run. The HIANG personnel were invited to participate at this years torch run on April 20 at Keaau High School. Joining Chris were Officer Jason Grouns and Matt Kaaihue of the police department and fellow athletes Jason Pascua, Don Ching and Cindy Uchida. Officer Grouns holds the torch used in the run.

Softball Tournament donates proceeds to Special Olympics East Hawaii's Explosions delegation

Thank you all 16 teams who participated in the softball tournament this past weekend. You helped raise money to purchase softball uniforms for the 40 athletes and 6 unified partners competing this season with the Special Olympics East Hawaii's Explosions delegation. A big mahalo to Lee Arquero and ohana for putting this all together!!
