Explosions Unified team is GOLDEN!
The elusive GOLD medal was placed on the determined and well deserved Box Shootaz - the highest level softball division in Special Olympics competition- at the 2013 State Summer Games this past Memorial Day weekend. They not only played extremely well, but looked awesome in their new uniforms!

Red Waves bring home the GOLD
Coach pitch division B was won in a close game by the Red Waves. Months of training and great coaches made their success possible. Congratulations.
Pahoa After School All Stars win gold
Pahoa Intermediate school brings home the GOLD at the state Summer Games in. Unified coach pitch softball in their first ever participation. Great job !

YAP inclusionary play day
On May 4th Special Olympics held its semi annual YAP (Young Athlete Program) inclusionary play day at Keaau Elementary School. This is a special program for children with or without intellectual disabilities between ages of 2 1/2 to 5 years old. YAP teaches preschoolers eye hand coordination and very simple sport movements.
