Tomorrow, Jamuary 19, Sweet Thunder Products is holding their monthly Keoni Spicy Ahi Poke Challenge starting at 4:00. Money collected will be donated to Special Olympics East Hawaii. Join the challenge or just come to cheer the participants on. Try their Ono food!

Hilo High School's Project Unify Event

Hilo High School is an OUTSTANDING Project Unify School! They include the Special Olympics athletes into their school activities and work in partnership with the many clubs, athletic teams and classes to promote inclusion in the school. It is the BEST Project Unify school in our eyes!!!  Here is a basketball signed by all of the Hilo High School Girls Varsity and Junior Varsity players and coaches that was presented to East Hawaii Area Director, Carey Uchida, at their game against Kamehameha tonight. What an honor for our Special Olympians!

UH Hilo Vulcan Baseball team wins 2012 Outstanding Organization of the year for East Hawaii

Congratulations to Coach Joey Estrella and the University of Hawaii at Hilo's Vulcan baseball team for their 2012 Outstanding Organization of the Year for East Hawaii! Coach Estrella's 36 years dedicated to Special Olympics is an example of the commitment he makes to help his community. Mahalo Coach Estrella and happy retirement!

Big Island FCU raises over $2,400 for Special Olympics East Hawaii through their Mile of Quarters Campaign. MAHALO!
